The College of Art and Built Environment (CABE) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST) has organised a capacity-building workshop for senior and junior staff aimed at improving professionalism, teamwork and efficiency in service delivery.

The workshop, themed “Empowering Senior and Junior Staff in the College of Art and Built Environment for Effectiveness,” brought together administrators, technicians, security personnel, drivers, IT staff, cleaners and gardeners to strengthen their roles in advancing the College’s vision and supporting KNUST’s drive “from excellence to eminenc.”

Provost of CABE, Professor Christian Koranteng, urged staff to align their responsibilities with the University’s mission and values, stressing that excellence depends largely on the commitment and professionalism of staff.
“A college is not built by bricks and mortar alone, but by the hands, hearts and habits of its people,” he stated.
Professor Koranteng encouraged participants to view the workshop as an opportunity for self-reflection and professional growth, emphasising the importance of accountability, safety, discipline and teamwork in sustaining the College’s reputation.
He also commended cleaners and gardeners for their dedication to maintaining a conducive learning environment, describing them as “the silent artists of our environment.”
The Provost expressed optimism that the training would strengthen staff commitment, improve productivity and enhance service delivery across the College.
