Paramount to the restructuring of the University, the then Faculty of Environmental and Development Studies (FEDS) and the Institute of Land Management and Development (ILMAD), were amalgamated to form the former College of Architecture and Planning, CAP, in January, 2005, which with the addition of the Faculty of Educational Studies became the College of Art and Built Environment, CABE. The CAP was expanded to include the Faculty of Art, which was part of the then College of Art and Social Sciences, CASS. Also added to the College was the Faculty of Educational Studies, which was inspired by the MSc Educational Leadership Science programme mounted by the KNUST Institute of Distance Learning, IDL and the Art Education programme of the then Faculty of Art. Today, the College of Art and Built Environment stands tall among its peers, championing innovation and leadership in the art, built environment and education spheres.
