The College of Arts and Built Environment at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, has joined in celebrating Professor John Owusu-Addo for his outstanding contributions to architecture education and sustainable design in Ghana.
The visit, led by the Provost, Professor Christian Koranteng, was to congratulate Professor John Owusu-Addo on the honorary doctorate conferred on him by the University of Westminster.

Speaking on behalf of the College, Mr. Anthony Acheampong, the College Registrar, said the College found it necessary to associate itself with and congratulate him on his achievement.
βWhen we heard this as a College, we felt it was necessary to celebrate one of our own for this achievement. We also associate ourselves with the honor bestowed on him and want him to know that we still remember him.β
The College presented a congratulatory plaque to honor their Professor.

Professor Owusu-Addo thanked the College for recognizing his achievement and offered further advice:
βI thank you all for this. God bless you all; I truly appreciate it. You must hold fast to your institution.β
Professor Owusu-Addo served as the 9th Pro Vice-Chancellor from 1980 to 1982, Dean of the then Faculty of Environmental and Development Studies, and the first African Head of the Department of Architecture.
Also in attendance were the Dean of the Faculty of Built Environment, Professor Emmanuel Adinyira; the Faculty Registrar, Ms. Bridget Jnr. Agbenorku, Professor Samuel Owusu Afram, Mr. Alexander Osei Poku, and Mr. Evans Oduro.
