ABOUT US
The Centre for Settlements Studies is mandated to conduct research into the human settlements and planning issues generally and to devise interventions targeted primarily towards addressing the socio-economic and housing needs of the rural and urban poor. To achieve this goal, the Centre focuses on development oriented research leading to the formulation of policy guidelines, extension services through demonstration units and problem-solving consultancy. The Centre also provides outreach programmes for the development and management of settlements and services for capacity building of relevant institutions. It collaborates with both local and foreign universities and research institutions.
