The Centre for Settlements Studies is a team of multi-disciplinary researchers and academics ranging from Planners, Architects, Social Scientists, Economist as well as varied experts in the Built Environment. Our approach to dealing with issues of poverty and improving the lives of communities in Ghana and other developing countries is based on our three core activities: Research, Teaching and Advisory Services.
The Centre’s activities are deeply embedded in theory and practice. Research Fellows have experience working at both national and international levels, and possess expertise working in different countries, and sectors, providing an intellectual base and home for interdisciplinary settlement-related research. The Centre’s research philosophy is driving on the concept of co-production of knowledge in linking research to teaching and above all seeking to make research relevant and making impact in communities.
